The original 251 microphone was introduced in 1959 stands out as an enduring symbol of audio excellence, having played an indispensable role in the history of sound recordings of the past to the present, and is still revered as one of the finest microphones to date.

Enter the world famous “ck12” capsule. A unique and complex design which set a new standard for audio fidelity in the golden era of sound and which many believe is unparalleled even by today's standards.  
 
The O.P.R Plan 251 Transistor uses our very own OP12-C Capsule uncompromisingly modelled on the original brass CK12 capsule but reengineered for a fixed cardioid pattern. The circuit is a minimalist transformer, coupled, single transistor design with selected premium components throughout to ensure utmost fidelity. The body and head basket are faithful to the original and further facilitate to faithfully recreate the sonics.
