THE GRILL Torus – Amorphous Core Toroidal Transformer
The Grill Torus uses a hand-wound toroidal transformer with an amorphous core. This design delivers lightning-fast transient response, ultra-low distortion, and a remarkably open top end. The result is a ribbon microphone that feels more modern—airy, detailed, and precise, while still retaining the warmth and body ribbons are loved for. Perfect for acoustic instruments, vocals needing presence without harshness, and any application where clarity and intimacy are paramount.
THE GRILL Classic –OPR NEW Traditional Nickel E-Core Transformer
The Classic model employs a new, nickel E-core transformer—a major step forward from the previous Grill stock transformer. This refined design offers much lower distortion, accurate impedance mattching and superior sonics, elevating the microphone’s vintage-inspired character to a new level.
The Classic delivers a thicker, weightier sound with rich midrange detail and smooth low-end extension. Transients are gently rounded, giving recordings a lush, analog depth that evokes the unmistakable warmth of golden-era studio ribbons.
